MAIN PAGE - FISHING - OUR MEALS - ACCOMMODATIONS - YOUR HOSTS - OUR LOCATION - OUR LAKES - RATES Our full service fishing lodge is as remote as a fly-in camp but as a unique boat-in (click here for details) there are a few notable differences: First, there is no weight limitation for each fishing guest. (Believe me, we have seen everything from a blender to a float tube!) Second, the cost to the fishermen is cheaper than a similar fly-in. (Boats rather than planes $$$) Third, you can enjoy all the "creature comforts" at Red Pine that you would find at most drive to full service fishing camps. (Hot showers in each cottage, delicious meals served to you.) Fourth, you have the chance to fish a large, very remote lake without having to "learn" how to fish it all by yourself. (We have a guide service and many repeat guests that are very good at showing you the hot spots and how to fish them.) Most folks visit us for our exceptional Walleye (Pickerel) fishing, but large Northern Pike, healthy Smallmouth Bass, tasty Whitefish and Perch think Lady Evelyn Lake is a great place to live! Three kinds of Trout (Brook Trout or Speckles, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout) are found in nearby "portage" lakes available to our guests. As if that wasn't enough, Tarpon, Rooster Fish and Albacore have found a home here also. I'm kidding about that last trio of fish, I was just seeing if you were paying attention... But enough about Me, let's see if we have what You are looking for: If you look around our web site, or happen to have one of our brochures, you'll see that having a bit of fun here at Red Pine Wilderness Lodge is an important ingredient in the Great Fishing Vacation Recipe. But we are very serious about providing:
YOUR WILDERNESS FISHING ADVENTURE BEGINS THE MOMENT YOU ARRIVE... Red Pine Wilderness Lodge, and its 9
guest cottages set amidst towering, fragrant red pine trees on a remote 7
acre island is the ideal place for your special remote fishing trip or
wilderness family holiday. We are the Gateway to two huge parks: The
Obabika Waterway Park and The Lady Evelyn/Smoothwater Wilderness Park. FISHING, FISHING, DID WE MENTION FISHING? The waters of Lady Evelyn Lake offer the serious angler a taste of Northeastern Ontario's finest Walleye (Pickerel), Great Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Whitefish and Perch fishing. Don't forget about the 3 species of Trout that also call this area "home". ONCE YOU'RE HERE, TAKE A DEEP BREATH (IT'S CALLED FRESH AIR). Enjoy this remote lake's breathtaking scenery as you travel by lake barge and boat launch to picturesque Red Pine Island. Spacious comfortable and well appointed cottages accommodate up to 6 adults. A choice of Housekeeping or American Plan ensures the perfect holiday. Your privacy and convenience are enhanced by a private dock, each with a 16 foot aluminum boat and New 15 horsepower, four stroke, electric start motor for every two adults. There are also electronic fish finders on each boat. Our all-inclusive plans include gas, live bait, ice, sheets, towels, & food. HAD ENOUGH FISHING?
(ANYTHING'S POSSIBLE). To compliment our fishing there is hiking, swimming, sunbathing, and waterfall exploring. Nearby nature trails offer a chance to explore the diverse landscape and to snap the perfect photograph. Some of the wildlife you may see include, Moose, Black Bear, Osprey, Bald & Golden Eagles, Otters, Beaver, and the perhaps the elusive Timber Wolf or Bobcat. White sandy beaches and crystal clear waters are an invitation to swimmers and water sport lovers alike. And, at the end of a worry free day you can be a "porch potato" (the North's version of a couch potato) on your own front deck to enjoy a gorgeous northern sunset... Then there is our WILD ISLAND NIGHTLIFE! What? There's nightlife at a fishing
resort on an island? You bet. It's our completely natural program
featuring Haunting Loon Calls, Crackling Campfires, and incredible visual
effects performed by the BUT SERIOUSLY FOLKS... With over sixteen years of experience here at Red Pine Wilderness Lodge, we and our dedicated staff have developed a strong commitment towards preservation of our wilderness and conservation of our excellent fishery. This year, let us share our small piece of Northern Ontario, with you.
